US Investment Leader @Mercer
Jay Love is Mercer’s US Investment Leader and is based in Atlanta. Jay has previously served as Mercer’s US Director of Strategic Research and National Segment Leader for Defined Benefit consulting. Jay is responsible for guiding Mercer’s US investment business, coordinating Mercer’s capabilities and knowledge across client and investment areas to deliver success for Mercer’s clients. His responsibilities also include serving as a senior consultant for large public and private pension plans. Jay has worked with a wide range of clients in his 20+ years with Mercer, ranging from hospital operating assets to sovereign wealth funds. Jay holds a Bachelor of Science in economics from Millsaps College. He is a CFA charterholder, and a member of the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts and CFA Institute. Jay was named to CIO Magazine’s 2017 and 2018 list of the World’s Most Influential Investment Consultants.
Elias Erickson
Portfolio Manager @Ninety One
Elias is a portfolio manager and analyst in the Quality team based in New York. His portfolio manager duties include being a portfolio manager on the International Franchise Strategy as well as being an alternate-portfolio manager on the team’s flagship Global Franchise Strategy. As an analyst, Elias is responsible for global equity research for the Global Quality equity strategies. Prior to joining the firm, Elias was a managing director at Thornburg Investment Management where he worked as an associate portfolio manager for the Thornburg Global Opportunities Fund. His previous role was with Dodge & Cox where he was responsible for global equity research in the capital goods, medical devices and chemicals sectors. Elias started his career as an investment banking analyst in the healthcare group of Lehman Brothers / Barclays Capital. Elias received an MBA from Stanford University and a BS from Brigham Young University (magna cum laude) where he was a presidential scholar.
Dekia Scott
Chief Investment Officer @Southern Company
Dekia Scott is the Chief Investment Officer at Southern Company where she leads the Trust Finance team which oversees the Company’s corporate pension plan and the investment options of the company’s 401k plan. The team also has direct oversight responsibility of various other asset pools such as the Georgia Power Nuclear Decommissioning Trust, the Georgia Power and Southern Company Gas VEBA Trusts, and the Georgia Power Company, Southern Company Charitable and Southern Company Gas Charitable Foundations. She has been with Southern Company since 2000. Ms. Scott has a broad array of experience ranging from asset manager research and structure to portfolio strategy, asset-liability analysis and high-level accountability to executive management. Throughout her career she has developed strong relationships with many asset management organizations and professionals, across various layers of the institutional investment industry.
