David Amendola is a Senior Director and the North America Intellectual Capital Leader for WTW’s Benefits Advisory and Compliance practice. David leads WTW’s student loan and educational assistance consulting efforts. In this vein, David has partnered with many clients to develop strategy and plan design, while understanding pertinent legal, cost, administrative and vendor considerations associated with implementing student loan and educational assistance benefit programs.
Jeff Holdvogt

Jeffrey (Jeff) M. Holdvogt advises clients regarding a wide range of employee benefits matters. He focuses primarily on the design and administration of complex pension, defined contribution and executive deferred compensation arrangements. Jeff counsels privately and publicly held corporations on ongoing day-to-day retirement and executive compensation issues, as well as employee benefits design and transition matters arising from corporate mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. He has assisted clients with internal compliance reviews and with voluntary correction filings for both fiduciary violations and plan document and administrative errors. He also advises clients in connection with fiduciary and plan investment issues under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). Previously, Jeff served as a law clerk for the Honorable Paul H. Anderson and James H. Gilbert of the Minnesota Supreme Court.
Jay Schmitt

Jay Schmitt has 29 years of benefits consulting experience. Launching his career as a retirement actuary, Jay gained firsthand experience with the complex technical aspects of defined benefit, defined contribution, and health and group employee benefit programs. Benefits administration and systems to support a plan sponsor’s administrative activities quickly became an interest, and Jay spent several years developing and supporting customized administrative applications for large, complex clients. The group he ran supported administrative systems, produced benefit statements, performed data consolidation and cleanup activities, and performed special actuarial and administrative projects for clients. He also acquired valuable industry insight at Hewitt Associates and Northern Trust Retirement Consulting. Most recently, Jay served as Director of Client Services for a leading provider of employee benefits administration software.
